Nursing a sweet tooth since childhood, I remember jumping at every opportunity of baking a cake for school events. Seeing my friends devouring my cakes so blissfully sparked a desire in me to experiment more.

But it all stopped once I moved away from Qatar to pursue my studies in Finance and make a career out of it. After working at 3 different places, I longed for my lifelong dream of being a baker. In hopes of fulfilling that, I found myself, once again, in the company of some pantry ingredients, ready with a spatula to whip up some cupcakes, with Google and YouTube as my mentors.  

As time progressed, every dinner outing meant tasting something from the dessert menu and analyzing it. It inspired me to recreate those desserts at home. Finally, after many trials and errors, I perfected the recipe of a chocolate sponge cake.  

I felt grateful for all the support and appreciation my friends and family showered me with. That’s when I had an epiphany of sharing this joy with the wider community; hence I made my first sale. Since then I’ve enjoyed creating handcrafted, bespoke cakes for celebrations and special moments. Looking at the overjoyed faces of my customers paid off all the hard work I’d put into bringing their dream cakes to life.

At Solemn, my team and I focus on creating delectable, aesthetically pleasing, baked goods made from scratch daily. Our vision is to curate such a place where people come to find mouthwatering desserts that satisfy their cravings, leaving a lasting impression and they return for more.
